Biketoberfest is more than a ride — it's a movement.

Now in its 11th year, this fun, family-friendly event invites hundreds of people to experience the joy of navigating Charlotte by bike or on foot. Through a lively, scavenger-hunt-style adventure, participants explore the city's vibrant neighborhoods, greenways, and small businesses — discovering just how fun and empowering it can be to get around without a car.

Along the way, we highlight the very infrastructure — like greenways and protected bike lanes — that Sustain Charlotte has successfully advocated for. Each stop is a chance to reinforce our shared vision: a healthier, safer, and more connected Charlotte where everyone, regardless of age or ability, can thrive.

We launched Biketoberfest in 2015 to highlight how bikeable South End and Uptown can be—and to raise funds to support our mission. Since then, it’s grown into one of Charlotte’s most exciting events, spanning multiple neighborhoods and becoming our largest annual fundraiser.
