Biketoberfest 2025

October 19, 2025

It’s time for Sustain Charlotte’s annual Biketoberfest — once again proudly presented by the City of Charlotte!

We’re excited to welcome hundreds of participants on Sunday, October 19 for this unique, choose-your-own-adventure event that lets you explore the Queen City your way! Whether you bike, walk, scoot, or run, this “go at your own pace” urban adventure is perfect for all ages, abilities, and transportation preferences.

How It Works

  • Pick up your Biketoberfest passport at either the Passport Pickup Party at Triple C on Friday, October 17 anytime between 5 p.m. to 7p.m. OR at Triple C starting at 11:30 a.m. the morning of Biketoberfest.
  • Use the map inside your passport to navigate to the official stops along the route.
  • Collect a stamp in your passport at each route stop - earn a bonus stamp if you post and tag us + the route stop on social media!
  • Exchange your stamps for raffle tickets at Triple C's Barrel Room for a chance to win amazing prizes at the after-party! Check out the raffle prizes here
  • Review and familiarize yourself with the route ahead of time.
  • Make sure your bike and scooter is in good working condition; check your tires are brakes! Check our Trips for Kids at Triple C before you begin your ride if you want them to do a bike check.

Biketoberfest Route

You can open the route map on your phone via Google Maps.

We also have a set of turn-by-turn directions via the RunGo app for the full route or the short route that you can print out or view on your phone.

Note: It’s best to download and install the RunGo app ahead of time.

Biketoberfest short route
The Short Route (~4 miles) is a great option for walkers, beginner cyclists and families with young kids. This route primarily stays in South End along the Rail Trail.

Biketoberfest long route
If you’re a more experienced cyclist or looking for a longer ride, you can do the Full Route (~16.5 miles), which will take you through 12+ neighborhoods.

What to Bring

  • Helmet (required for participants 16 and under, strongly encouraged for everyone)
  • Wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather (we recommend closed-toe shoes)
  • A small backpack to carry all the goodies you’ll collect along the way
  • Sunglasses and sunscreen
  • Rear bike light — visibility is key, even during daylight
  • Reusable water bottle to stay hydrated – refill stations available at some stops!

Arrival/ Parking

One of the great things about Biketoberfest is that you can start your route anywhere, but if you can make it to Triple C Brewing Co., we recommend starting there!

Layout for The Barrel Room at Triple C.

Heads up: Parking at Triple C Brewing is very limited, and street parking throughout the South End can fill up quickly. Please plan ahead! Skip the parking hassle and ride in!

We highly encourage participants to bike, walk, or take public transit if possible. After all, that’s what Biketoberfest is all about — enjoying the city through sustainable transportation!

Pro Tips
🚲 If you want the full experience, bike the entire route!
🚌 CATS buses are equipped with bike racks (though they can only hold a few at a time).
🚊 The LYNX Blue Line has bike racks in each car — super convenient! The closest train station to Triple C is New Bern station.

Here is a map of the Blue Line stops with park-and-ride locations listed.

Stay Safe

While Biketoberfest is a fun, flexible way to explore the city, your safety is our top priority. Please remember to ride responsibly. Biking under the influence is both unsafe and illegal. Stay sober so everyone can enjoy a fun and safe ride together!

⚠️ Remember: This is Not a Closed Course

  • Stay alert and follow traffic laws.
  • Biketoberfest makes use of greenways, bike lanes, and public streets, which means you’ll be sharing the road with cars, buses, and pedestrians for parts of your journey.
  • If at any point during the ride you don’t feel comfortable on a part of the route, adjust your approach. It’s legal to ride on the sidewalk (except on Tryon, College, and Church streets in Uptown), and ride in crosswalks to safely navigate intersections.
  • We encourage you to hop off your bike and walk it through any crowded or tricky areas.
  • Have questions during the event? Look for volunteers or visit our info booths located along the route.
  • If you have any issues on the route, please reach out to Brian at 443-527-5373.

After Party

Sustain Charlotte’s Biketoberfest isn’t over after you finish the route. Make sure you join us at The Barrel Room at Triple C Brewing for the official after-party starting at 4:30 p.m.

We’ll have live music, we will announce the raffle winners, our gracious sponsors will have giveaways and food/drink samples, and of course, you can try the official beer of Biketoberfest.

Hope to see you out there!
